Could it be that God is so much like us that He longs to find someone to play Hide and Seek with? I believe there is not a place in the world or a culture that ever existed that did not have a special fondness for that classic game. Maybe we got this from our Heavenly Father. Proverbs 2:1-5 teaches that God has made "the knowledge of God" something worth searching for. It uses phrases like, "making your ear attentive," "inclining your heart," "cry out," "raise your voice," "SEEK," "SEARCH FOR," and "HIDDEN TREASURES." The Hebrew word for "knowledge" here comes from the same word used in Genesis when "Adam knew Eve." What a deep level of "knowledge" desired by our God. In many ways, too deep to understand. However, not too deep to seek to understand (or know)! More specifically, the word "knowledge" means to know something as a result of using your senses. When we think about it, it makes perfect sense because our senses are just as much gifts from God as any other gift. In fact, they are probably the most precious gifts because without them any type of relationship is impossible. One could argue that most of our physical senses are included in the scriptures at hand. Hearing = "making your ear attentive," feeling = "inclining your heart," speaking = "raise your voice," seeing = "seek," and "search for." However, one very important sense is still missing. It is the sense of taste. God has reserved this sense for the "finding" part of the game. Once we reach our goal and find Him, we get to "taste and see that the Lord is good." Therefore, the question is: are we using our senses, all of them, to "know" Him? May God help us to be children who love to seek and find the most valuable treasure of all. Just as importantly, may God help us to play according to His rules, where He is the “hider” and we are the “seekers.” Just as it would not be fair to hide outside the bounds of the play area and not make yourself findable to the seeker, it would also not be fair to finally be found and then refuse to seek.

very good
I knew it! There is a highly spiritual reason for my family's obcession with hide n' seek!
You see no matter where the children try to hide and think they are invisible...the parent knows exactly where they are at all times..and when the time is right...He gently "finds" us.
